Monday - cheap Kindle book recommendation!

I did this a few weeks ago, and I can't remember what day it was on but I saw this book on Amazon.com today and think I'm going to be picking it up.  The review of "LOL Funny" and "a funny, quick read".   There were also reviews with "threadbare plot" and "typos" but know what?  It's 99 cents.  I've thrown way more than 99 cents worth of fresh, yet yukky, vegetables out of my fridge in the past ... day or so.  What have we got to lose?   Let me know if you pick it up or not.

PS - here's another 99 cents one that got ho-hum reviews.  :-)

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

"Mirror, mirror, on the wall..." Who is YOUR favorite Disney villain of all?

I saw this Tweet by DisneyParks earlier today and thought it would be fun to find out who your favorite is.  Mine is Cruella DeVille!

Wednesday ...

Wednesday?  That's it?  I thought for sure when the alarm went off this morning that it was Saturday and I would be able to wake Hubs up and go back to bed for a little bit.  Wishful thinking, eh?

Things are moving right along here.  Still not ready to invite the realtor to the house to have a "look see" - which works out well since rumor has it he is enjoying sunny skies and warmer weather in the Sunshine State.  I have a ton of stuff ready to list on eBay as well as 43 items between the two seller accounts I have (one for scrapbooking and one for other stuff), I am hoping to get more stuff out the door in the next few weeks.  I need to get photos taken and items listed.  So far, I've used the eBay $$ to:  pay for a private lesson for Twink, swim lessons and a gymnastics session for SweeTart, Winter Workout for Dinoboy and two months worth of laundry soap, diapers and wipes.  Oh yeah, don't forget the all day ski school with lunch and rentals for the older two.  Not too shabby, right?  It makes me feel good that the funds are "going somewhere" rather than just being spent recklessly or aimlessly.

Over the weekend someone on the Books4MyKindle.com site lent me a book called "SparkPeople".  I thought that it was just some new fad diet/weight loss book -- *I did request it, no one sends you things that you don't request* -- and I found that it is linked to this whole new wave of "healthy living" and a website.  SparkPeople.com  (surprise, surprise?)  I joined.  It's free.  I'll see what I come up with.  If you're looking for me there, my member name is CoffeePls2011.  Someone else has already donned my CoffeePlease name and I wasn't allowed to use NeedCoffeePlease for some reason.   I'll let you know what I think of the site when I have had more time to check it out, in depth.

On Monday, I used a recipe from Once A Month Mom for a chicken macaroni bake.  Yummy.  I did something to it which dried it out (convection cooking maybe) or maybe I didn't follow the recipe to the "t", improvising a little and not measuring correctly -- but the entire casserole?  Gone.  I ate the last of it today for lunch.  It was delicious.  Today, I added green beans right to the noodles.  Delicious!  I might make it that way next time.  (If you are not familiar with Once a Month Mom, stop what you are doing and head over there ... now.  It is a wonderful site!  And Tricia is making loads of great, new changes to the site in the weeks to come.  PS - a wonderful guacamole recipe too!  I will never, ever purchase guacamole again.  It is way too easy to make and much better fresh!!)

My lunch breaks have been filled with fretting over our upcoming Disney trip and how we'll eat while we're there.  Decisions, decisions, huh?  I think I've finally got something mapped out and the ADRs made but they'll only stand if we decide to go ahead and purchase the Disney Dining Plan while we're there.  Especially the reservation that I made for Fulton's at Downtown Disney - expensive?  A little.  LOL  Also have been trying to figure out a plan of where to stay before and after the Disney Dream cruise in November.  We're hoping to add one day to the beginning of the trip and two days to the end of the trip so that we're not travelling on cruise beginning and end days and the weekend.  Plus, I think Hubs said the airfare for the five of us is significantly less if we travel Tuesday/Tuesday.  Still plugging away on that one.  Has anyone ever done a land/sea tour @ WDW/DCL before?  I'm very interested to hear your opinions.  (And, Legoland will be open in Orlando by then! I'm pretty sure that will be a must do.)

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Disclaimer: I have not read this ...

but at 99 cents, it was too good a deal not to share!  LOL  I'm sure it is on "sale" for Kindle for a limited time so get your copy now if you're looking for an inexpensive weekend read.  (and, for all of you books4mykindle.com peeps, it has lending enabled so your 99 cents is good for your read and a "friend's".)

Fabulous Friday - Awesome Deals I've Unearthed This Week

This has been a little bit of a crazy week.  Busy weekend.  Busy week.  Finally feeling a little bit better, though still not 100%.  Unfortunately, hubs is now under the weather ... but these deals I've found are pretty good ones.   They definitely brought a smile to my face.

BooksformyKindle
Do you have a Kindle?  Do you want to be able to share books but not enough of your friends and/or family members have a Kindle or they don't read the same genre you do?  I stumbled upon this site during the week and have already loaned out three books, and received two loans.  It is a free site that lets you list the books you have to be loaned and lets others search those books and request them for you.  Since you're only allowed to lend a Kindle book once, for now, you just deactivate your book o n the site after you've lent it out.  And, it will only allow you to list "actively" the books that are lending "enabled" from Amazon.com.

Cash4Books
Another awesome site!  How many books do you have laying around that you're pretty sure no one wants, no one wants to buy them on eBay, none of your friends want them ... but you *think* that they might have some value besides kindling?  Ok, me too.  More than I like to admit.    Sign up, put your ISBN # of those unwanted/used books that you have lying around and they'll give you an offer on them.  Seriously.  There are some books they're not buying, which is okay and there are some books they're giving you 2 cents for.  (2 cents instead of clutter?  I didn't think it was a deal last week but this week I am looking on the positive side!)  $13.44 that I got for an accounting book from 5 years ago?  Golden.  You don't even need to pay to ship the books to them, they'll give you a label so you just need to package the books up and slap the label on.  Easy as pie.  Check it out now while I'm admiring my latest "instant payment" in my paypal account.  Love it!!

REDBOX
You sign up, you get a free movie.  Sign up for text alerts and at least once a month, generally on a Monday, you get a free movie rental code.  Click on the above link to check it out.  If you sign up, I get a free movie code.  If you refer your friends after signing up, you get more FREE movies.  While I love my Netflix, I am really beginning to love Redbox.  This refer a friend offer is valid through 3/17/11.

SNAPFISH
 get started
In honor of St. Patrick's Day, Snapfish is offering 100 4x6 prints for only $5.00, shipped!  Now, for anyone who does scrapbooking, we know this is an AWESOME deal.  Click the "get started" button above to open your own Snapfish account, if you don't have one already.  (New customers get FREE prints too!) Upload your photos, add them to your cart and enter the code stpatprnt. Another easy, peasy way to save bucks! (Expires 3/20/11)

Use links to get free Redbox Movie code!!

Redbox is the best - you can rent DVDs for $1 a night with no membership fees! You should try it out. If you click on my link and it's your first time renting online, they'll give you a free one-night online rental credit. And I'll get a free rental each time you rent via my link through 3/17/11.

Not sure what redbox is? Redbox is that bright red movie rental kiosk you can find in and around places like supermarkets and convenience stores. Redbox is super easy to use: just pick a movie, swipe your credit card and walk away with your disc. You can also reserve your movie online so it will be waiting for you when you get there. (I did this with Megamind and the woman in front of me was PISSED that she coudn't get it but I walked away with it.  So worth the dollar!)  Redbox DVDs, even the brand-new ones, cost just $1 a night to rent. Blu-ray Discs cost just $1.50 a night.  Redbox Tell a Pal

Want to learn more? Click on my link up there! If you reserve a movie online right after you click on the link, your friend will earn a rental credit good for a one-night rental.

Seriously?  Redbox Rocks!

March 9, 2010: Loving his Project (seriously)

What started off as one of the worst school years in the history of our household, has dramatically turned around.  Our DinoBoy has become a History Buff!  He loves watching A&E, The Military Channel and any other channel he can get his hands on to teach him about US History.  Seriously, I think this kid knows more about American History, particularly the first and second world wars than I learned in 2 years of US History in HS and an additional year of US History in college.  His brain:  a sponge - absorbing all the little facts that are fascinating to him.  He is currently learning about the wars in his 4th grade social studies class.  His project, due on Monday, is to create a poster which will make the people of the US feel good about a particular time in one of the wars... he chose that we won the Battle of Midway.  (Please ignore all of the toys everywhere --- concentrate on the kid doing his homework. Willingly.)

Build Your Own - Ski Crew

The kidlets didn't have school last Friday.  Hubs and I packed them (the older two) up and took them to Blue Mountain, PA for the day.  This is only their second time on skis and they did wonderfully!  They are both already looking forward to going back again - soon!!  Their Dad has a new skiing crew!  Yay!!

Low Entries - You could win $15 to CSN!

Wow - LOW entries.  Extremely low entries.  Anyone want to win a $15 gift card to CSN stores?  I will draw a winner tomorrow.  All you need to do is visit my last blog post (http://needcoffeeplease.blogspot.com/2011/03/wow-first-for-everything.html) click on the link for CSN stores and do a quick search at the top of their storefront to see what you'd like to spend a free $15 on!  But, the catcher is, you need to comment on my post, telling me that special item that you'd use it for.  Right now, there are less than TEN entries.  Your chances of winning?  Well, pretty dang good.   Like everything else in life (like the lottery,) you can't win if you don't play!  :-)

Wow - A First for Everything ...

Yesterday's first was my first x-ray.  Yup, 37 years later, besides the yearly dental x-rays and the ultrasounds when pregnant, yesterday was my first x-ray - of my chest.  They checked for pneumonia and the x-ray was ... negative.  Yay!  I think, LOL.  Last night I started my 12 day journey of steroids, my 10 day journey of a stronger antibiotic than 2 weeks ago and an inhaler, for as long as I need it.  Now, maybe we can move forward and not have everyone at work treat me like I am a carrier of leprosy.

Today's first?  I am a featured blogger!  Can you believe that??  I am so excited and wanted to send a thank you to the great gals sponsoring today's Follow Me Wednesday blog hop.  If you are new to blogging, click on the Follow Me Wednesday link on my left sidebar and check out what it is all about.  It's a fabulous opportunity for everyone to grow their readership, make a few new friends and read many new and interesting blogs!   Thanks to all new visitors too for stopping by and saying hello.  Hope you are able to grab a hot cup of coffee and browse around a bit.

Another first in today's post:  I've been contacted by CSN to do a giveaway for them.  Right here.  On this blog.  Don't fall over!  You'll have a very good chance of winning if you stick around!  Are you not familiar with CSN Stores?  Don't worry, I wasn't either when I was first contacted by them.  CSN Stores is a network of over 200 unique stores that you can shop from all at once.  Over 2 million items to choose from.  Kind of makes it easy to purchase what you want, whether it be pendant lighting for your kitchen renovation, patio furniture to put outside this spring or even a kiddie toy!  CSN seems to have everything you could ever want and prices that won't break your budget.

** Edited to ADD ** Know what, let's get this party started now!! I'd love to start this giveaway today and end it next Wednesday!  All you need to do is click on the link above and tell me what you would want to purchase from CSN Stores.  Easy enough, right?  The gift will be a $15 g/c to CSN Stores to use in any way you please but ... (of course there is a but!) right now we can only ship to USA and Canada.  I can tell you that there is a console table on the site that I am in love with!  If we were not minimalizing our stuff, I'd definitely spring for that.  Oh yeah, if you're not a follower of mine, and there is no way to contact you on your profile page, please leave your first name and email address in the comment so I know how to get in touch with you!  Thanks for playing!
My kidlets are off from school on Friday.  Have I mentioned that already?  Boy oh boy have we got plans.  SweeTart and my mom are heading to the Aquarium for a class trip with her pre-school class.  Hubs and I are taking the older two skiing for the day.  Skiing = me in lodge (on computer or reading!), kids in lessons and Hubs tearing it up on the slopes.  Good day!

On the horizon, two book reviews between this week and next week are coming up.  Twink has another gymnastics competition on Saturday, DinoBoy has his baseball "camp" on Sunday, Hubs is attending the NJ State HS Wrestling Championships in Atlantic City on Saturday/Sunday.  I've got more scrapbook stuff to unload on eBay, and other household stuff going up for auction every day as we continue our purge to get the house in "ready to show" condition.  And, I think I may need another drum roll here - Hubs and I are planning to sneak away for 4 days in April - back to Disney!!  For Epcot's International Flower and Garden Show!
